The Evolution of Yoga by Ari Hunter

July 22, 2024

THE EVOLUTION OF YOGA & HOW TO CREATE MEANINGFUL, AUTHENTIC & EFFECTIVE YOGA SEQUENCES

What I now know of Yoga is not the same as what I knew 30 years ago, 3 years ago or even 3 months ago. My understanding continues to evolve as I change. Everything evolves and in many ways this evolution is required for longevity. We are a reflection of our environment, and as we know seasons change.

Yoga is a timeless skill and an art, a way of living, moving, breathing and being present in the moment, amongst other things. I could not teach the same sequence of yoga postures that I did years ago, it wouldn’t be the same because I have changed, and each of the people in the room have changed. What I knew all those years ago and what I know now are different, so how I approach my teaching must change.

A thriving Yoga teacher is able to adapt to any situation and understand the how and why of sequencing certain postures together. To then know how to transition between each of these postures safely and effectively is a skill that can be learned.

Knowledge is experiential.

Through the understanding of any skill, wisdom must be lived, breathed and experienced to deepen our knowledge. Fostering deeper understanding, skill development, and personal growth through active engagement is the key to the evolution of art.

So why do a Yoga Sequencing 50 hour Teacher Training Module?

This practical course will provide you with the ability and knowledge to develop your yoga practice and if you have an interest in becoming or are a teacher, this will provide you with effective yoga sequences that represent your authentic voice and vision. All while inspiring confidence to take your understanding of yoga to the next level.

Sequencing like yoga is both an art and a science, and through this course you will learn sequencing techniques that safely prepare bodies as they progress from simple to complex asana following the flow of Krama.  Understanding which certain movements go together and the underlying principles and patterns of asana will enhance both your understanding of your practice and teaching immensely.

Creating class sequences can be a fun way to express your authenticity and creativity as a yoga teacher, but your sequences must have purpose to meet the needs of beginner and experienced students alike. This “Creative Yoga Sequencing” training module will teach you how to create intelligent sequences for all levels of student as we traverse through foundational postures, arm balances, backbends, forward bends, twists, inversions and mandala sequencing all within a safe structure and fun community learning environment.

This yoga sequencing course contains 50-hours of continuing education with ready-made sequences and detailed asana practice.
