Meet RACHEL BECK - TIY YOGA TEACHER

What was your inspiration for becoming a yoga teacher?

When I began regularly practising yoga, my whole world shifted – yoga became the anchor that could bring me back to myself time and time again. I quickly became obsessed, and wanted to learn everything I possibly could about the magical practice. And now, 10+ years and 10,000 hours on, I teach yoga, simply because I love it. Yoga has been one of the most transformative gifts of my life so far, and all I wish to do is share just 1% of what I’ve received from this incredible practice.

Your favourite yoga pose if you have one?

I have MANY, but right now I can’t get enough of Warrior 1, Virabhadrasana I. So simple and so complex. I will never not be obsessed with this pose.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

When something clicks for someone - whether it’s a pose they’ve finally unlocked, a micromovement or energetic quality, or a philosophical concept that resonates… the light on someone’s face when something LANDS is just amazing and I love it.

How can we find you on social?

About RACHEL:

Rachel’s classes are smooth, strong and fluid. Inspired by the strength and stillness of the practice and how these qualities are applied both on and off the yoga mat, each sequence aims to lull her students back into their physical bodies, into a meditative state, and leave them feeling empowered, reconnected and uplifted.

While first drawn to the practice for its physical challenges, over time it was the non-physical, subtle teachings of the practice that spoke louder to Rachel, which cemented yoga into a constant pillar in life. This love and deep curiosity for yoga has grown with continuous study.

Rachel completed her first teacher training under Noelle Connolly and Kat Clayton, followed by further training with Prana Flow trailblazer, Shiva Rea, and is inspired by many others including Brooke Elliston, Lara Zilibowitz, Joan Hyman and more. Rachel is currently undertaking further training into Yin and Trauma Informed yoga.
