What was your inspiration for becoming a yoga teacher?

Yoga transforms my life and guides me through my healing journey. Yoga is a powerful pathway for presence, connection, and expansion. Each pose is a container for mediation and our practice is our mirror in which to sincerely see, understand, and connect with our true selves. Through our practice we begin to surrender our fears and soften our hearts to allow more space for deep compassion and respect for all life. When we are connected we can love a little deeper, live with more purpose, discover contentment, and rise together.

Your favourite yoga pose if you have one?

Currently it's Camatkarasana, Wild Thing - it always feels so deliciously expansive and expressive. Also, cool fact is that in sanskrit Camatkar translates to miracle.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

Teaching is the greatest gift. I love holding space for others to go on their own journeys inwards and meet themselves with more compassion and acceptance. My heart fills with joy when someone leaves the yoga class feeling more peace, joy, strength, or finds whatever it was they needed is already inside of them.

How can we find you on sociAL?

About Destiny:

Destiny was drawn to yoga and meditation at age 18 after reading Ram Dass' "Be Here Now". Her first life-changing pose was savasana, and it still remains one of her absolute favourites. Originally from Arizona, her journey has taken her to explore over 40 countries where she has been adventuring, learning, and growing in her life and yoga practice. Now settled in Australia, she continues to ground, heal, and expand herself through her practice, and loves helping others feel nourished, accepted, balanced, and encouraged as they dive into their own practice.

She teaches a diverse style of classes including power vinyasa, hatha, restorative, trauma informed, yin yoga, meditation, and offers sound healings. Destiny creatively sequences her classes to be playful, inclusive, and challenging. She teaches grounding, progressive classes that safely build and offer opportunities to explore deeper. She incorporates pranayama, meditation, and sound healing into her classes and threads Vedic Philosophy from an authentic place of inspiration and examination throughout class.

Destiny has undergone training with Duncan Peak, Nicole Walsh, Matt Ringrose, and Nicola Ellis. More recently she has been influenced by the teachings of Shivea Rea, Anna Forest, and Seane Corn. She is an avid meditator and incorporates the teachings of her meditation teachers Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield into classes to invite compassionate presence in the practice. Off the mat, Destiny enjoys strumming her ukulele, singing, doing volunteer work, travelling, scuba diving, ocean sunrises, moonrises, blossoming flowers, dancing, and all the animals.

"Yoga is a container for meditation, a tool to go inwards. It helps us connect with nature and authentically connect with others. Through these connections, we find union and cultivate contentment in our hearts."- Destiny Wolf

Destiny is on maternity leave from April 2024.
