Meet DAVE PARTRIDGE: YOGA Teacher at This Is Yoga
What was your inspiration for becoming a yoga teacher?
I was drawn into the yoga world by a friend 5+ years ago… Let’s just say I never left… the grounding nature, connection to breath, intuitive movement, flossing of the facia/joints, challenging the balance and overall feel good was too magnetic.
I wouldn’t say I was inspired; It was more I never left; yoga has always been there. Call yoga my Mr/Mrs Consistent 😊.
I’m inspired to explore the human experience through movement and meditation.
I find the human body amazing. It is an integrated part of your whole being, and manifests your experience of the world through emotion, thought and the five senses. That’s what gets me out of bed.
Your favourite yoga pose if you have one?
Handstands and anything hips or glutes.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Alongside ‘Yogaring’ (I’ve deemed it an official word) I work fulltime in engineering, and I feel inspired to uphold the same mission statement whether it is in the office or on the mat.
“To create an environment where people can realise their potential, where you’re free to express what you’re afraid to express, an understanding that its not about me, but about us and the journey we share”. This is what I enjoy and hope to share.

About DAVE:
David teaches thoughtful and challenging yoga classes that draw on his personal experiences in movement from gymnastics, Olympic & power weightlifting as well as rock climbing. He understands the benefits of movement and appreciates the full extent of how yoga can complement sports and general day to day living. He acknowledges the true art and tradition of yoga whilst sometimes breaking the rules to find unbound intuitive freedom and unique movement patterns.
David has knowledge of massage therapy through Zen Thai Shiatsu, meditation and breath work from freediving/spearfishing and incorporates these elements into classes that support harmony of body, mind and ultimately life… this synchronisation is where the magic happens <3.
