Meet DANIELLE BARKER: Yoga Teacher at This Is Yoga

What was your inspiration for becoming a yoga teacher?

I never intended on being a yoga teacher. I did my first training as I wanted to deepen my knowledge of the practice, and a good friend gave me the push to teach one class one day, and then suddenly it was 7 years later.

Your favourite yoga pose if you have one?

Visvamitrasana is my favourite pose that is named after a king-turned-sage Visvamitra. The meaning of Vishwamitra is; Visva means ‘the world’, Mitra means ‘a friend’. Sage Visvamitra is known for his yogic power of compassion towards all the people he used to meet.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

Watching my students meet their potential. We often don’t see our own potential so its my sheer joy as a teacher to watch my students step into that.

HOW CAN WE FIND YOU ON SOCIAL?
