Meet AMY SGAMMOTTA: YOGA TEACHER & STUDIO MANAGER at This Is Yoga

What was your inspiration for becoming a yoga teacher?

The practice of yoga deeply connects me to myself on multiple levels—mind, body, and spirit—eliciting a profound sense of harmony. Through consistent practice, I noticed improved breathing, a shift towards kinder thoughts, a broader perspective, and a heightened sense of joy. The integration of movement with breath, and the palpable energy exchange within, ignited within me a desire to spread the transformative essence of this life-affirming practice.

Your favourite yoga pose if you have one?

I've always loved Paschimottanasana and Urdhva Dhanurasana. They've guided me to practice in tune with my body's sensations, to embrace its current state, and to prioritize gentle openness over relentless effort.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

Engaging with individuals eager to elevate their consciousness, embrace self-love, and embark on a healing journey through the myriad benefits of yoga is incredibly rewarding. I firmly believe that yoga is inclusive and accessible to all, and I find joy in delving into alignment and creating explorative experiences with my sequences. Yoga, to me, is about tapping into the inherent balance within oneself and amplifying it from the core outward. It's truly an honor to share something that has profoundly enriched my well-being.

How can we find you on social?
