The Power Of Equanimity - Meditation workshop

MEDITATION WORKSHOP WITH MICHAEL KING FROM WHOLLY HUMANS

The Bhagavad Gita, which is one of yoga's most influential texts, says that "equanimity is the essence of yoga" - so it's kind of a big deal!

Equanimity is like a meditators secret weapon, enabling psychological and emotional stability, even amongst the wildest storm.

The benefits of equanimity in your meditation practice, and life in general, are huge, which is why we want to teach you exactly what equanimity is and how to directly apply it to your meditation practice so you can reap some of the benefits.

Here's what more equanimity will give you -

  • A whole bunch more calmness and mental stability
  • Greater self love
  • More compassion and empathy
  • Emotional freedom
  • Greater self understanding
  • The ability to turn obstacles and distractions into opportunities for growth

A Little About michael

Michael King and his partner Hannah are the owners and creators of Wholly Humans, a "community for integrative yoga and wellbeing". Michael is a hatha yoga teacher who currently teaches between Coffs Harbour and Bali, where he travels to teach the meditation and public speaking components of the yoga teacher trainings at The Practice Bali.

Michael has been teaching meditation for 8 years and attributes all of what he now knows to an incredible array of teachers he has had over the past 12 years, but he still considers his greatest teacher to be the Australian bush and ocean. In his mid twenties Michael would often wander off into nature, taking a hiking tent and surf board and spend night after night sitting alone by the fire exploring the contents of his own mind and heart, he says that these times in nature, surfing, hiking or just sitting still have taught him as much about the mechanics of the mind and the interconnectedness of all things as anything else.

Michael understands that teaching meditation and yoga can sometimes be intense and deep, which is why he usually brings it across in his trademark manner of playfulness and with jokes that are so bad they're often funny.
